Cox WiFi Outage
Internet working on some devices but WiFi acting up? Here’s how to tell if it’s on Cox’s end, plus quick things to try first.
Try these first
WiFi issues are often something you can fix on your end in a couple of minutes, before it’s worth reporting:
- Restart your router/modem — unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, wait 2 minutes for it to fully reconnect.
- Check the Panoramic WiFi app (or your Cox equipment’s own app) for an outage notice or equipment health warning.
- Move closer to the router or reduce interference — thick walls, microwaves, and other electronics can weaken a signal without it being an outage at all.
- Check for a firmware update if your router hasn’t restarted itself in a while.
- Test with a wired connection if possible — if internet works with an ethernet cable but not WiFi, it’s a router/WiFi problem, not a Cox outage.
Still down after that? It may be a wider outage — check the live map below or see if others nearby are reporting the same thing.
